Baylor University Celebrates Four 2020 NSF CAREER Grant Winners
In the world of high-level university research, one of the most meaningful honors a young faculty member can receive is a CAREER award—which makes Spring 2020 an historic time for Baylor research.
Baylor’s aspiration to become a Tier 1 research university, as expressed in the strategic vision of Illuminate, charges faculty to conduct research marked by “quality, visibility and impact.” External funding grants, like the CAREER award, are a coveted sign that faculty members are doing just that. Highly-competitive, financially significant and professionally validating, CAREER awards demonstrate the scientific community’s belief in the productivity and further potential of a young researcher to address society’s biggest challenges.
This year, a school-record four Baylor University professors earned CAREER awards from the National Science Foundation, a tangible sign of the excellence of the research taking place at Baylor and a statement of growth throughout the institution.
